Cultivate Joy

The past few years have seemed like one challenge after another, one disappointment after another. I'm not alone in this. I've heard from so many people how hard life has been lately and how discouraged they have become. The mid-winter blues in northern climes doesn't help these feelings either. So rather than give into despair, I am on a mission to cultivate joy in my life. I invite you to join me!

What brings you joy?

Think about those things, do those things, be with those people.

Focus on the opportunities within the challenges. take the time to consider each thing you are grateful for daily, be purposeful in bringing joy to others, get outside and move around. All these things are good for you mentally and physically.

Even when you don't feel like it, smile. Smiling reduces stress and boosts our mood.

Spend time doing something you enjoy - inside or outside. I ilke to paint, put a puzzle together, pray, cross-country ski, go sledding, sew, attend a play or listen to live music, have dinner with friends, play board games and read.

What do you like to do? Create a list. Make some time to enjoy them alone or with others. Be mindful about cultivating joy in your life and others.
